Headsets and Headaches

Headsets and Headaches
I'm soliciting help with my headset. I'm using a Logitech G930 wireless and it is falling apart. I really like the surround sound but the headset has always been difficult to turn on, loses it's setting in the software, and now the ear pieces are in sad shape. I would not buy again
Also, I hate having to close games and/or application when switching from speakers to headset! I'm not sure I want another USB headset so what are my options????
(I remember Mem mentioning he used a USB switch with success. Is that the only way?)

Re: Headsets and Headaches
I personally would never go wireless for anything as the added convenience is just not worth the trade-off for batteries, price and setup. Mem has had good luck with his current set mind you.
What I use: Razer Banshee StarCraft 2 Gaming Headset

I've had these for maybe 3 years now and other than accidentally turning the mic/speakers off when I pick them up, there has been no problem at all. Plus I got them on sale for $60 (reg $120?). Really happy with Razer products.
Now, I do have to manually switch speakers to headset for audio playback via windows speaker setting on the taskbar but that literally takes 5 seconds. My speakers are not USB so there is no auto recognition as to what I have...Saw, that might be an ASROCK thing as we're both running than brand of MB.
How about these?

For me, when my current set dies I will be getting another Razer set...but I'm sure there are just as good ones out there too...

Re: Headsets and Headaches
I agree Razer is awesome. I'm using a Razer Blackwidow keyboard and love it.
So, with a non-USB headset I should be able to run both speakers and headset at the same and not have to close a program to switch. Right? Just turn down the speakers when using the headset?
My keyboard has a jack for headphones and mic that may be an option....
(BTW, I have a Gigabyte MB, you may be thinking of the ASROCK I mentioned that I just put in my mom's comp)
