Using Gold to Buy

Post by OpusTheFowl on Tue Feb 04, 2014 5:50 pm

Hey guys. Mem mentioned this the other day and I wanted to check it out. Turns out that it is not cost effective to use gold to buy things in game (tanks, premium). If you are going to do that then buy the tanks or time from the webpage. Use gold strictly for things you can't buy from the site like garage slots or barracks.

The two times this is not true is if you are:
- spending $178 for 40k in gold
- sales (both in game on the site)

If you want to know more or something specific, let me know...

Good point and good reminder!

I only use gold for:
- converting XP
- the occasional paint job on my permanent tanks
- crew training when I'm lazy.

(and yes, I have spent real money from time to time. If I didn't I'd be at tier 3 while you guys have tiers 6s  afro  )

As suspected, it is cheaper to buy tanks with gold when they are an sale in game too.

For example, if you bought 4500 gold, that would cost you $23.59. You then pay in game with gold for:
Chi-nu: 750
Matilda BP: 875
Matilda IV: 750
Ram II: 875

Total 3250 gold

Buying these tanks in the store with cash would cost $24.60 so right there you are saving $1 but more importantly, you also have 1250 EXTRA gold left over for the next sale which you could get 1-2 more tanks for gold...

This is also how crack is sold on the streets...no surprise there... Laughing

Also note that it's really not that worth it to buy larger amounts of gold than needed. Even at the extreme ranges of 1250g to 40000g, you are only getting an extra 30% gold. From 4500 to 6500 it's only 2.5%...cheap ass Russians...

$4.86 Matilda Black Prince
$4.50 Matilda IV
$9.36 total

These two are on sale right now but if you buy 1250 gold for $7.64, it will cost you 813 gold leaving 437 gold left over (freexp, future sales, etc)

I think though I'm the only one the really likes Matties though so...
